Trial Balloons
How did humanity ever prosper before the idea of Daylight Savings Time came to be? Supposedly the Railroads created time zones to prevent crashes. “As the United States entered World War I in 1918, the government delegated time zone supervision to the federal organization in charge of railroad regulation—the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC).1,5 The new concept of DST was also overseen by the ICC to assist in the war effort.5 Initially introduced by Germany during the war to conserve fuel and power by extending daylight hours, the United States soon followed suit.1
After World War I, DST was nationally abolished but allowed to continue on a state-by-state basis.1 As a result, confusion and collisions caused by different local times once again became a transportation issue.1 In 1966, the Department of Transportation was founded to serve as a “focal point of responsibility for transportation safety” and given regulatory power over time zones and DST.1,4 DST was implemented uniformly across the Nation, with dates for the twice-yearly transitions set by law.1 This still holds true today. With the exception of Arizona and Hawaii, every state must continue to observe DST between March and November, unless otherwise exempted by State law. 1” https://www.bts.gov/geospatial/daylight-savings-time
I find it interesting that DST largely came to be around 110 years ago; about the same time period of other great upheaval. Has it benefited society, if so where is the empirical evidence? From what I see all it has done has been at a minimum confusing and more likely counterproductive. Have the states and countries that refuse to participate somehow been outpaced and or proven to be Luddites by those that do? I see no evidence of this.
In fact the whole argument is ridiculously similar to other sophistry such as cow farts causing a dangerous global climate change. Do you see how those in power love to float the most absurd ideas on society as a trial balloon so as to judge how far they can push their main agenda(s)? If there is not an immediate uproar they view it as tacit or overt consent to foist even more ridiculous notions upon humanity. Even children see through this programming and many question it, only to be quashed by an authority figure that shames them into silence.
In retrospect, (especially the last few years) we start to notice patterns of events and subsequent restrictions of freedoms. The wizened people (seemingly few) are pushing back and calling these things out. However, too many people just accept another one of a thousand cuts to their freedom. They don’t notice the patterns of sophistry, victim shaming and gas lighting.
Conspiracy you say? Well, yes, there are many conspiracies: an event or plot involving more than one person. I can show the evidence down through history by those bent on obtaining or retaining power at ANY cost. The problem I have run into is this: Most people believe what they want to believe, not the empirical evidence. Too many people think that they are too smart to be fooled whether it is at a very young age or old. As one gets older it becomes much harder to admit that they were fooled. This is in large part due to ingrained habits of thought and subsequent behaviors, but also due to the ego and pride.
I have spent considerable time attempting to debate many of these people only to be shunted by their intellectual laziness and dishonesty. Now, when I do engage with one of these people, I ask them up front what constitutes ‘proof’ in their eyes and then I ask them if they truly care; this usually ends any debate before it starts. They are hopelessly ensconced in their beliefs and or dogma.
What continues to astound me (maybe it should not) is that people who see some of the most egregious examples of ‘False flags’ and other pys-op tactics do not see the more subtle and long standing patterns of sophistry against them. I see DST as just another absurdity foisted on humanity to herd people and be a barometer of what else those in power can get away with.
